Diseases and epidemics are preventive by improving health care for the public. There are three of suggestion that you can consider when you make policies to decrease citizens' health problem. The first thing to stop infectious diseases from spreading is to wash hands frequently. You should teach students from elementary schools, who are more likely to follow teachers' instructions. Also they are easily to be infected. Next, you should put lots of signs above wash basins to remind people wash their hands. Moreover, the poor are most likely to get diseases. So you should focus more on problems of the poor. Not only you can provide them free basic medical care, but also you can give them soap for free. In addition, you should promote prevention ideas to the public. For example, you can make advertisements to teach prevention tips on TV, and online. This helps more people to learn how to prevent infection.. Meanwhile, you need to schedule health examination for people regularly because prevention costs are lower than treatment costs. It also can help people stay away from diseases. Following the suggestions above can gradually solve diseases and epidemics problems.

Learning a second language

Learning a second language is fun but it is not an easy thing. The first hard thing of learning a second language is to remember lots of new vocabularies. For example, Compare to ,my first language, Chinese, english characters are pretty different. And even if you know many vocabularies, you may not understand what they exactly mean in English. Learning English does not only required remembering vocabulary but also learning new grammar. In my language, pronounce don't differentiate between male and female genders. For instance, "ta" means both he or she. Moreover, we don't need to learn verb tenses. In Chinese, we don't need to change verb into past tense when we are talking about the past. However, there is a easy way to learn a second language, to immerse yourself into a full second language environment. It is the fastest and the vest way to learn and to improve skills of a second language. In addition, when you study abroad, you will experience not only language but also culture. In my opinion, I suggest that people laearn a second language even if it is a little bit difficult to start. But I think you will have fun and get a useful skill after you excel in it.

winter storm

Since I have never experienced a winter strom. I went to Google and searched for thisbinformation. I found out a news story about winter storm which happended few years ago. Winter storm was formed by two different air masses colliding. And it brought extremely low temperatures. The storm crossed central and southen U.S.. It caused a lot of damage. For example, roofs blew off the buildings and trees fell down. Even worse, it killed at least nine people. It was a serious winter storm.

Animal-Slender Loris

I am a Slender Loris, living in tropical rain forests of Southern India and Sri Lanka. I can live in both low and high land forests, or in wet and dry forests. It means that I live most of my life in the trees. And I like thick, thorny vegetation and various insects for food. But sometime I eat slugs, young leaves, flowers and so on. The most important thing is, I move fast so that I can escape from predators easily. 

How do you keep cool or warm? I don't know.

Because I am though to have medicinal or magical powers, so many people kill my family. And my group are not able to live when our rain forest home are destroyed, so lots of members are going dead. Now the Indian government are trying to help us to live, but its effects is not work well.

About Garbage

I think my country doesn't have any serious problem with garbage, because the government has working hard on teaching people to recycle and to sort garbage. My country has been managing this situation for a long time. The government has set up several incineration towers to burn garbage. Reusable garbage goes to recycle factories, and the rest of useless garbage in my country is incinerated. People in my country recycle everyday. They have different trash cans to contain different kinds of garbage. Moreover, the government encourages people to recycle by giving some money as you collect and  take used plastic bottles to recycle factories. Thus, people are trained to recycle through advertisements, posters, and signs above public trash cans. If I was the mayor of my city, I would make some rules that make people follow them well. One of my opinions is to charge for each bag of useless garbage. If I charged for every trash bag, people would recycle to reduce their garbage in order to save money from buying high-price trash bags.

HW 2

I live in an extended family with my grandfather, parents, a sister, and a brother. I think my family will remain an extended family for at least five more years because my grandfather has good health, and all of the children are still studying now. I hope I will live with my parents in the future in order to take care of them even if I am married and have my own children. It has been customary for married person to keep a room in their house for their parents. As time goes by, Taiwan has changed a lot. This is because young people work in big cities, and most apartments in cities are not as big or as comfortable as homes in rural areas so that elders prefer to live in the countryside. This change could reduce the financial burden to children in the future. The difference between Taiwanese and American families is Taiwanese children usually support  parents for the rest of their lives when children have ability to get  jobs. Probably this change benefits both parents and children. The countryside has purer air, spacious environment, and relaxed life style. It is quite a nice choice for elders. Children work hard in big cities, and visit their parents on some weekends. It seems pretty good for both children and parents. The children can take a break from big cities, and their parents can catch up with them.

HW 1

My city is Taipei city, which is a small and crowded capital city in Taiwan. As I mentioned, it is a crowded city. If twice as many people live there, it would be too crowded to live. Because the roads do not have enough capacity to handle many cars, they will have traffic jam everyday in the city everywhere. And I think the house price rises much higher owing to large demand on buying or renting house for stay in Taipei city. The third viewpoint is that price level in daily life will rise as the population rise in the city. The last problem maybe is the crime rate could break records. As many people could not afford the price level in the city and not reach standard living level, they would more likely to steal or to rob from the rich. All mentioned above are my opinions of what my city would be if twice as many people live there.

introduction

I come from Taiwan, a small island country, my name is Sally, who is friendly, and I have one sister and brother. When I have free time, I usually play badminton. And I have been ASU for just 10 days, and plan to stay for two months. I have searched the English program online, and it was said that AECP in ASU was great that was the reason I chose here. And I am not going to join ASU, going home after finish program in order to study economics major in my university.
